Post subject:  Another Cut-Away

Cut-away locomotives have been discussed here a number of time. I'm not sure these photos have been posted.

Completed for Expo 37, this cut-away is remarkable.

Even more remarkable that it survived the war "intact". You'd think it would have been stripped for usable parts, scrapped for the steel, etc.

In WWII I do not believe there was a great demand for iron or copper on the German side of the war. One of the more controversial issues was Sweden's willingness to sell iron ore to Germany throughout the war. Germany had fairly good access to raw materials right up until the factories shut down.
