In the "Sound of Music" (filmed in 1965) there's a scene involving an operating cog steam locomotive. Does anyone know where this was filmed? And if the locomotive still exists? |

The scene was filmed on the Schafbergbahn in Austria. The railway still exists and still runs steam, both antique and modern light oil fired. I do not have the movie in front of me but according to the note on steamlocomotive.info, this is the locomotive now preserved in a museum. http://www.steamlocomotive.info/vlocomotive.cfm?display=8620 Roger |
