Does anyone know the date and location of this years Trolley Winterfest? The event I am refering to is the annual operating event for trolley museum staff and volunteers. The location was announced last year during the banquet at Halton County, but I can't remember the info. I thought it was going to be on the east coast this year. Seeing this is a semi private event for active museum staff and volunteers (there are rewards for volunteering!) please send me a PM with the info. I am in the situation that I need the info A.S.A.P. in order to submit for vacation picks in 2011. Steve Heister Northern Ohio Railway Museum |

Is there any news or registration form yet for a 2015 Cabin Fever Day or Winterfest Weekend? |

Not that I know of, other than the fact that IRM intends to put all able bodied ATRRM attendees to work at the conference-everything from maintenance to running cars. |

September 18-20 is ATTRM at IRM. Steve, do you mean that it is to replace the Eastern Winterfest - Cabin Fever normally held in February? |

Odd how a post from 4 years ago gets answered as if it this year. It is at PTM in 2015 and I have heard many great things about this coming event. Steve |

Steve, I've been paying dues and contributions to support your Northern Ohio Rwy. Museum since 1994 partly to support it so that someday Winterfest can be held there. You seem to be making some progress. |

Jim, Thank you for your support. We have been making progress and this years Fall Foliage tour operation was a great learning experience in operations. As far as future Winterfests, it is my intention for NORM to be a host someday. Obviously we need wire up with 600 volts on it, enough track in operating condition, and cars ready to operate. The other factor is a warm place to hold a group of people. All our buildings are not heated and have no insulation, they are pole barn construction. I need someplace other than the Townships EMS van to be a place for folks to warm up! In Northeast Ohio it can be 50 degree's and sunny on Presidents Day Weekend. Conversly it can also be minus 5 degree's with a raging blizzard underway. The thought of the latter with no place to get warm gives me pause. Someday Winterfest at NORM will happen. We just need to find a couple million dollars and it will happen sooner rather than later. In the mean time come and visit in the Summer. Steve |
