A posting on the Erie Lackawanna List brought attention to an industry magazine series that has been scanned to Google Books. The Express Gazette - "The Representative Journal of the Express Service in America" -- appears to have served the rail express market during the late 19th and early 20th Century. A fairly large collection of issues are available online - looks to be worth perusing:
