I don't recall seeing anything here, but a friend reports RSD-1 1034 was out on the interchange today at Lehman Place. Anyone have any details?

I saw it being loaded on a flatcar while at Strasburg on Dec. 9. The carbody was on the flat, but the trucks were still on the rail. I don't know where it's going.

This one has been "all over the place"--Atlanta & St. Andrews Bay, Alaska, Army, DOT......

I have this specific unit listed years ago as in the ownership of the Smithsonian Institution, and was only "on loan" to RR Museum of Pa. .......

So where is it going now?

Yes, it is being moved to FT Eustis VA for storage. To my knowledge it will be kept indoors, out of site of the public's eye.

Engine arrived last night to Newport News, VA. Was moved on Local H773 to Lee Hall around 10am this morning and picked up by US Army crews from FT Eustis to be moved on base. Should be offloaded by tomorrow, next week at the latest, and placed either in storage at the rail shops, or on display at the museum on base.
