We finished up our season Sunday. I helped for the 3 Santa trains Saturday. We had totals of around 350 and 350 and 450 for riders on the 3 trains Sat. We have a New Years train left for the year. It looks like we had a very good year.

The 0-6-0 is ready to have the boiler sent out for rebuild.

TC -

Sounds like some nice ridership totals for the Santa trains.

I was looking at some old photos of the Hocking Valley Scenic and noticed that they used two old Erie Stillwell cars the first few years, numbers 461 and 463. When the ex-Rock Island commuter coaches were purchased, the Stillwell's were apparently set aside. There was also some more recent photos mentioning a plan to possibly restore one or both cars. I just wondered if that was ever done, or if these old Erie cars even still exist. Couldn't find out anything about them when checking the official HVSR website.

The Erie cars are gone. I should ask what happened to them. We have 2 C/O light weights sitting in the dead line that should be restored one day. There is also another light weight parlor sitting with them. Last year we scrapped a heavy weight sleeper that was destroyed in a fire set by vandals several years back.

Here is a 2008 photo of an Erie Stillwell that is not so well, but not so bad either, at Nelsonville OH.

Thanks for the photo. I guess it was scrapped then, some time after the photo was taken? I agree that the car does not look that bad. Certainly not great, but not that bad. A shame too, because it apparently was quite an historic car.
