For those of you who haven't seen much of the Rio Grande Scenic RR other than the shots that seem to be all too common, this video is a must-see:

This video (aside from the train consist) makes the whole operation look much more like the legendary "Fiddletown & Copperopolis" in scenery (not in operation, thankfully!).

Absolutely beautiful video in every way, with wonderful capture of the sounds too! Great stuff for a steam fix! I rode that train a few years ago and will never forget standing in the vestibule with the upper door open and hearing the marvelous sound of that engine working up the grade on the return trip from La Veta - a solid hour of it! Oh, and those dome cars are pretty posh too.
