Does anyone here know of any industry railways/railroads in North America that use or used the Alliance "Full size" Couplers?

I know about all the 3/4-size contour Alliance coupler users, we covered them in a previous post, so lets not discuss those.

The Alliance couplers were developed at the same time and along side the AAR type "D" couplers that were also an ASF owned design. They were designed to be a lower weight and shorter head length design than the type "D" and were a candidate to be the AAR standard coupler in about 1913 (I believe).

These couplers were cast at the Alliance Ohio Steel foundry that was part of American Steel Foundries. The rights to the couplers have since been sold to foundries all over the world and are produced everywhere except here now. The "Full-Size" version was marketed to the entire world as thier standard coupler and is in use on every continent (except maybe not North America, we'll see if we still have any users after this post gets some responses).

Here is a photo of my Allianace "Full Size" coupler that I recently got in trade from the Sumpter Valley RY (3'-gauge, Oregon).

This one was cast with certain features that made it specific for 3'-gauge RYs. Notice the 5" x 5" x 21.250" (it has been cut down to 14") shank. That shank is the smallest available on a full size coupler head. It has an 11" knuckle with the knuckle core hole drilled and reamed to accept "Link & Pin" couplings, its knuckle was also cast with the slot for the "link and Pin" coupling.

This was cast in Allinace Ohio in 1953 and sold to the IRCA in Guatemala. It was used on the ALCO tenders from SV #19 & #20 that were pulled behind the Uintah #250 and #251 2-6-6-2 Baldwins while in GUA. It returned to the SV in 1993 on one of those tenders.

It will be 3D scanned and the files used to create patterns for casting miniature steel Alliance couplers for grand scale livesteamers, and will be functional replicas in every way.

Also notice that this has the wrong knuckle pin. It should have a "D" shaped top that prevents rotation. It is also missing its "kicker" (internal, so not visible) , so I need one.

Anyone going on vacation to; Guatemala, Columbia, Argentina, Brasil, anywhere in Africa and its surrounding countries, Australia, and many others. Look for these couplers anywhere that they do not use a Type "E", and if you happen to be at one, please try to find me a usable "kicker", they are all over those countries!
