I recall that Savannah, GA was operating a Melbourne car on street trackage using a portable generator. I have had no luck with a search for said operation. Anyone have an update and/or a weblink? Wesley |

Savannah's Melbourne car has a new hybrid propulsion system. You'll find information in this report from Stone Consulting: http://www.stoneconsulting.com/historictr/trolley2010.pdf |

My children go to college in Savannah. The streetcar line runs on the existing trackage on River Street. When we have been there, it seems to run more on weekends than during the week, and more at night than during the day. |

At one point I believe Savannah acquired an ex-St. Louis/ex-Muni PCC car with the purpose of repowering it in a similar fashion to the Melbourne car. Has anything come of these plans? |
