Good idea! Hopefully this will become an annual event which will heighten community of the museum's activities.

The food should attract people, I'll be curious to see how well it works out. Sounds like an original idea to me.

I've had an idea of what it would be like to hold a car show on museum grounds, basically unite one set of gearheads with another. You could not only look at something with 350 ci but something with 567 ci............per cylinder! $10 entry fees are common at some of the car shows I go to (something you could put torwards the museum in this case).

Anyone try any unique attractions at museums? How did it work out and would you do it again?

We have had good success with antique car shows over the years. The local Chrysler Club visits annually in July for their Club picnic. We do not charge an additional fee for the Club or our visitors.

Ditto what Wesley said for the Baltimore Streetcar Museum--it's a regular meeting/show place annually, and the BSM has a wall display of AACA meet plaques.

The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum hosts the Antique Truck Club show every year. This year it will be on August 28. We will also have a classsic car show on June 26. These events usually draw a good crowd. Come and have a good time.

Star City Motor Madness has evolved over the years from an on site car show for VMT into a stand alone event that takes over a large part of downtown Roanoke. It still primarily benefits VMT, and has funded the very nice auto gallery there
