A lot of people may have already seen this, but an update of sorts was posted on Trainorders regarding the Mark Twain Zephyr. It is apparently still stored at Relco in Minooka, IL, and may be sitting on the ground! I'm not sure if the link will work, but the message was posted on the Western board on 4-28.

I posted the original message on the Mark Twain Zephyr based on some hearsay info I got 2nd hand from a BN conductor. Check out the Rail Merchants International site. Go to www.railmerchants.net/forsale/index.htm. and click on Mark Twain Zephyr. They have the train up for sale. There are a number of pix of the now-unarticulated train. If you look closely, the pix, obviously taken in the winter, show that either the train is on the ground, or any track that was under it sank during the Clinton Administration. Please, let's get together a movement to save this irreplaceable trainset. It is gutted due to years of neglect, but would make a great static display. I'd move back to the area, if it will help!
