This just came through on railpictures. She has been restored and is on display in Butler, PA. What a fantastic job they have done!

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.

Very nice. I hope they protect it from vandalism. Were truck frames being stenciled with the car number back then (if in fact it is to represent the 70's and not later on)?

Nice, I like seeing hoppers and other "lowly" cars being restored.

Looks like a corporate display piece. At any rate, I will second the remarks about seeing distinct freight cars rebuilt as display or museum pieces; and besides, I just like hopper cars.

There's an interpretive value to a freight car restoration like this, there's a historical value, and yes, there's the railfan-oriented value...which can manifest itself in charter photo freights, etc.

In a way, this reminds me of why I don't "railfan" much any more...once the locomotive(s) go by, I'm not interested in container after container, especially when I grew up seeing boxcars of NYC, Pennsy, Great Northern, Northern Pacific, etc.

This appears to be a "public" restoration. Butler Transportation Agency in Butler, PA is located on the facilities of the old Pullman Car Company. This car was built there. So the transit agency wanted to recognize the thousands who worked in the factory building railcars so they found this car and contracted out for the restoration. Pretty nice. Especially nice to see people recognize the contributions of the hard working people years ago. I like it.
