Post subject: Cuban RDCs from VIA
PostPosted: Fri May 03, 2002 1:23 am

Ssometime in the 1990s, VIA sold RDC-1s numbered 6124, 6132, 6147, 6120 and 6109 to Cuba.

Does someone have the date of sale? delivery?

Does anyone have the builders numbers, build dates, etc.? What were they before they were owned by VIA?

Can someone provide conversion from VIA's numbers to Cuban railroad's numbers?

Here are some answers in a shameless plug for the Bytown Railway Society's "Canadian Trackside Guide" and "Branchline", its monthly magazine.

The sale took place in early 1998.

VIA # 6109 (S/n 6222,blt 10/55) was originally C&EI RDC1 bought by CN as #6109
VIA # 6120 (S/n 6703,blt 6/57)was originally CN #D352
VIA # 6124 (S/n 6220,blt 8/55) was originally DSS&A # 500 bought by CP as #9049
VIA # 6132 (S/n 5924,blt 7/53) was originally CP # 9055
VIA # 6147 (S/n 6014,blt 3/55) was originally CP # 9100 later renumbered 9307

No info on what the numbers are in Cuban Service.

Hope this helps!
