Hey there RYPN Hive Mind
I've gotta write up a car storage agreement, and I'm hoping to find some examples to work from, to make sure I cover all the bases.

Does anyone have anything they can share?

Good question/topic. You may get more horror stories than sample agreements.

You need to cover several contingencies --
what happens if the storage charges are not paid
what happens if other commitments are not upheld
what happens if the car is sold to someone else (agreement continues or new one is required)

Most car storage agreements are confidential contracts and language varies based on a wide variety of variables.

Are you talking about one or more individual cars for private owners at a railroad museum? Or fleet storage for a large equipment owner? Empty cars or loaded? Storage on a common carrier railroad or private industrial tracks? Switching charges in and out? Is the location secured or unsecured? Who is reponsible for acts of vandalism, trespass, injury, Acts of God, etc. Is the equipment insured?

Reading & Northern has a boilerplate track lease agreement available for download on their web site. http://www.readingnorthern.com/realestate.shtml

Canadian National also publishes their standard storage agreement: http://www.cn.ca/en/shipping-equipment-private-car-storage.htm
