Hi to all We have been referred to an auction being held in Nevada city MT and the viewing is March 31st and April 1st, is their any of our friends in southern MT that could possibly go and view an important item for us and take copious photographs ? many thanks Mike Pannell Car 57 307-221-2371 |

Well, guess I wasn't watching that web location well enough. However, photos of what is available is here: http://montanaheritagecommission.mt.gov/propertysale.mcpx Of interest to many: 4 Westside Lumber flatcars, complete, though requiring reconstruction. 25 Ton self propelled steam crane (spare bull gear listed as seperate lot, spare bearings on site but not listed in auction-contact me if you think you want to go after the crane). Last passenger car from the BA&P, only car from the Montana Western--both are very rough wood bodied cars--MW car is still very straight though. LOTS of rails track materials, mostly in 70-90 lb range, mostly rail, some switch components. Numerous parts, including lots of couplers. If you are a narrow gauge person--most of this is worth a very good look. I'll reserve my opinions of how this came about (major rant) but for those able to get this, it'll be a hell of a deal--probably all at scrap rate or below. Michael Seitz Missoula MT |
