Amazing what turns up now and then--vintage Southern Railway footage, featuring a variety of 4-6-2s (not all of them Ps-4s!), a freight train with a 2-8-2 and a passenger train with a 4-6-2 in color, and a rare beastie, a 2-8-8-2! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOSib1pF-v4 Also, video footage of the 4501 on early excursions, in 1967 and 1969, including some footage with the original small tender, the frame of which is now part of 630's current tender: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crLYQqDh ... re=related Those heavyweight cars just looked right behind steam. It was also interesting to see some 1950s vintage autos in one scene, at a time when those cars would have been maybe 10 years old, maybe even a bit less. . . |
