Does anyone recall which issue of Trains magazine had an article on the subject of Hitler's planned super-gauge railroads? I think it was in 1984.

It was in the August 1984 issue of Trains.

Post subject:  Online RR Magazine Index available

This is a great excuse for me to plug the online model RR magazine index available from Kalmbach. This site has a handy, cross-indexed database covering not just Kalmbach periodicals, but Trains, Diesel Era, CTC Board, Railfan & Railroad, etc. (alas, no L&RP--yet....) It's still a work in progress--it only covers some mags from 1990 on, for example--and I've had a few searches where I've not been able to find what I knew darn well I was looking for. But it's worth a lot more than we're paying for it!!!!

Well, I for one am happy that they're creating added value from my subscription fees for Model Railroader and Trains ... I've used it to find things in my own stockpile of their magazines which otherwise would have been close to impossible.

Cheers, Jochen
