I'm intrigued that 1109 had Allis Chalmers electrial equipment. I knew AC was a minor player in the trolley and interurban market, but never knew they made a leap to the diesel market. When did EMD switch to their own equipment? The only other piece of preserved equipment I know of that has A/C equipment is the Purdue Test car at the Museum of Transportation. It has GE motors, WH controllers and AC air brake equipment, including compressor. |

Many of the relays and contactors carry A-C labels. The traction motors and main generator are pure EMC. Howard P. |
