A subject that comes up every once in awhile in this group concerns the collection in Gorham, N.H. These were taken Friday of last week.

B&M 4265 F7A as she appears today. This gutted and severely rusted locomotive is actively being sealed and will be repainted in Minute Man scheme. The unit will have a train simulator in the cab, while the car body will house a small theatre.

No mechanical parts remain on this unit at all. The rebuild for display is admirable, and the group deserves support.

The 0-6-0 in the collection is really in good shape! The center tire is blind and very worn. Visiting contracted welders asked what they could do to help the restoration and were instructed on how to replace the missing walkways and other "essentials". She looks very nice.

Weirdness time. Conrail donated a Pennsy N5C caboose. I was told she's livable and has some of her interior, although modified by the various entities which held title to her while in service. She sits on Conrail roller bearing trucks. While painted in this odd scheme today, the plan is to restore her to her PRR scheme. I was told by workers onsite, the historical society would like to give this caboose to somebody who will pay to crane it out and truck it away. If so, this would be a nice chance to own the "classic" Pennsy artifact. Wish I had deep pockets!

So I gather that NONE of this equipment has anything to do with the GTW (that 0-6-0 in particular)

The 0-6-0 is an old industrial switcher painted to resemble one of GTW's homebuilt switchers, of which the Conway Scenic owns one (their 7470).

Actually, some of the cars are ex-CV, and the F7A ran through Gorham on the B&M. Everything is tended to, nothing wants for structural integrity (other than the cab unit), and everything get regular work and sprucing up. This is a low budget operation, but one that plenty of other home town groups could model themselves after. There is a wooden GT plow at the other end of the refurbished station museum, too. Really, when you decide to skip the Mt.Washington Cog Railway this year, visit this little group instead.

Just one more thing I'd like to mention, my very good friend, and a museum benefactor, former GT Conductor John B. Egan, passed away this past January. A memorial for him will be held this next month. Much of what has been preserved from this line is only because of John's foresight.

The Steam loco, is ex Eastern Gas & Fuel # 4 , which came from the Steamtown collection , when they were moving out of Vermont . The collection in Gorham, Nh is owned by the Gorham Historical Society , the equipment that is there , was either brought or donated to the society . I hope that this , will answer the questions, Pat
