GRAFTON CELEBRATION: A celebration commemorating 150 years of railroad history in Grafton, West Virginia will be held between Thursday July 4 and Sunday July 7 and will be centered around Grafton's downtown area, which is located immediately north of the railroad. It will include displays of railroad artifacts and model railroads, as well at food, craft and gift vendors throughout the weekend. There will be a parade on the evening of July 4 and fireworks that night, a Civil War reanactment on July 6, and musical presentations on July 4-6. The former-B&O passenger station is in the process of being renovated; and It is anticipated that its first floor will be open to the public at some point during the celebration. On July 6, various railroad photographers will present slide shows of B&O and CSXT railroad operations in Grafton and on the four lines that radiate from Grafton. The guest of honor, Alan F. Crown, CSXT's Executive Vice President-Transportation, will be present on July 5. CSXT's general office building complex will be open to the public between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on July 4. There will be a ceremony dedicating the new office building; and the railroad will provide refreshments. Various locomotives will be positioned for visitors to view and photograph.
