Bravo to SDVT! Your work will certainly enhance tourist experience in the Silver Gate city.

There are some very nice photos of this car, both in finished condition and while it was being refurbished, in John Smatlak's railway preservation website: http://www.railwaypreservation.com/index.htm

Hit the "streetcars" button on the left side of the home page, then click on "California" and "San Diego."

Note the fantastic paint job.

Thanks!

And the funny thing is?

There's still at least one original San Diego PCC left.

And it's in Baltimore, where it's supposed to be redone as a Baltimore car with handicapped accessibility.

2 original (not sold to El Paso) San Diego PCC's are at Orange Empire Railway Museum. Frank Hicks has 10 others, in various states of decay, in his list. Some of these may no longer exist.

I believe that most, if not all, of the El Paso PCC's still stored in and around that city are still in existence, albeit somewhat derelict. Six are at the El Paso Airport just south of the east end of runway 26R:

...hope that link works! A seventh is employed as a shop at 500 S Mesa St in El Paso:

I'm not sure about the precise whereabouts of the other three cars owned by the Paso Del Norte group.
