The Sanfilippo Estate will be the site of a fundraiser for the IRM steam locomotive collection, June 25. It promises to be an interesting time and tickets are still available.
The collection was discussed on RYPN in this thread:
http://www.rypn.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8275&p=38654

This from the IRM Steam Team blog:
Quote:
Doors to the Sanfilippo Estate open at 5:00 p.m.. Once inside, you are free to roam through the Estate to see and hear the marvelous collection of mechanical musical instruments. Docents will be in the various rooms of the Estate to play the musical instruments for your enjoyment. Throughout the evening there will also be engineers available on the lower level of the theatre room to demonstrate the various steam engines (using compressed air). At 6:45 p.m. the docents will start to gather everyone into the theatre room for the remaining events of the evening.

The featured organist will be Dave Calendine. Dave currently holds the position of Staff Organist for Detroit’s fabulous Fox Theatre, holding that position for 20 years now. He has also played nine years for the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular, featuring the world-famous Rockettes. Dave is also one of several organists regularly invited to play for special events at the Sanfilippo Estate.

Seems like a nice dress-up event.

So that is why a six year old thread was raised from the dead. :)

If someone attending the event doesn't mind writing down details on the stationary steam engines and steam traction engine, I would appreciate it very much.

You can see this locomotive at the Sanfilippo Estate, though in a different appearance.

Do tell: what is it and why it says "Ford".

That ex Texas & Saint Louis Grant 2-6-0 says Ford because Henry owned it.
