Hi, Just saw Transformers 3 (great sfx, worth it to see in IMAX 3D). One long sequence is at the old Packard plant in Detroit with at least 3 passenger cars strewn about. anyone have an ID on their history and ther post-filming fate? Rob http://www.detroitfunk.com/?p=4693 |

Rob, Looking at the pictures in the link you provided they are ex LIRR P72 cars. I don't know where they came from or what happened to them afterward though. Kevin |

Kevin My guess is that they were heading to the scrap heap (i saw the movie friday), so Bay picked them up while filming at a cheap cost to act as props. |

Yes - ex-LIRR P72's, yes, used as props, yes, cut up as scrap post shoot. |
