Does anyone know the origin of these two British builders plates My information on these two builders is lacking 1) Vulcan Foundry Newton le Willows Lancashire # 4897 1943. 2) North British Locomotive Co. Glasgow #25106 1943 both plates are nice looking and in the UK ( wonder if there originals or copies ) |

Much about Vulcan Foundry to be found here including lists of all locos produced: http://www.enuii.org/vulcan_foundry/ If I read those lists correctly, your first candidate is/was a 2-8-0 built for the UK government (Ministry of Supply) in 1943. Regards Chris Cook |
