Post subject:  Information on some British builders plates

Does anyone know the origin of these two British builders plates My information on these two builders is lacking 1) Vulcan Foundry Newton le Willows Lancashire # 4897 1943. 2) North British Locomotive Co. Glasgow #25106 1943 both plates are nice looking and in the UK ( wonder if there originals or copies )

Much about Vulcan Foundry to be found here including lists of all locos produced:

If I read those lists correctly, your first candidate is/was a 2-8-0 built for the UK government (Ministry of Supply) in 1943.
