While trying to find a genuine newscast on broadcast TV, I stumbled onto "Thomas y Sus Amigos", you guessed it, the latest digitaly animated version of "Thomas and His Friends" with narration translated into Spanish !!! In the Denver DTV market area, it is shown on "plain old over the airwaves free" digital channel (not satelite or cable) 6-2, called VeMe, which is the local Spanish language PBS channel. I only caught part of one episode, but the Spanish I heard was what I would describe as a neutral Latin American accent, rather than distinct Castillian or Chilango. And, the limited number of railroad words I caught seemed right enough, too.

Surely they show this in Mexico, and it will probably start a few kids off on the train hobby, (or worse), as it has in England and the USA.

Can Mandarin be far behind, or do I just not know about it yet ???

Amistad Ante Todo,
Sammy

Having worked several Day out with Thomas events (usually as Sir Topham Hatt's assistant) I can testify that Thomas's young admirers are of many ethnic backgrounds, united by their interest in the blue 0-6-0T.
