I first climbed into the cab of this loco in the late 60's! She was a rusted hulk back then, set off on a siding at H.E. Fletcher's Quarry in Westford, MA, and forgotten. So it was nice to finally see the 444 again, looking A LOT better than how I remembered. She looks good, and seems secure. If you're out there J David, I'd love to know what your assessment of this locomotive might be...recalling that you prepped the 444 for her move to Dunkirk some years ago.

Many thanks to the nice folks at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds for leaving the gate open for me.

Looking good, with boiler jacketing and apparently all of its (original? Risky!) jewelry. Equally impressive is the restoration of the accompanying rolling stock of an appropriate vintage.
