Wow, she looks great! Nice job.

Is there much competition for that title?

Now that's what a steam locomotive is supposed to look like! Nice job.

Super Kelly! No more than what we would expect from Strasburg shops. I like the way she looks. Looks like an engine that would earn her keep.

I guess about as much competition as 475 has for being the most reliable 4-8-0!

That is really sexy. Have you considered doing a black and brass only number plate on the front? That would look awesome.

Kelly, your shop guys (& gals) never cease to amaze. Really, you are the premier locomotive shop in the northeast.

Isn't it time to haul in the little 1187?

Bob -

Well, if the boys at IRM ever get their Frisco Russian Decapod back in service, I guess they could offer some competition.

Kelly,

Can you comment on the decision behind Strasburg's recent transition to vintage paint schemes and lettering for the locomotives vs a standard Strasburg livery? Does the general public notice the difference?

We could hope for the Hollywood treatment as done by N&W on #475.....?

Also, photoshop is great! In addition to making the photo lighter so I can see the details, it gets rid of that pesky smoke problem!

The other (sort of) operational 2-10-0 in North America would be IRM's 1630. No matter how "most reliable" is defined 90 is going to win such a comparison. But each situation presents its own challenges which can only be dealt with with the resources available to each institution. IRM excels in so many ways I won't bother to list them all here.

Has any other locomotive gone through two 1472 service day inspections?

The interesting thing I see in the photo is the string of tank cars in the background; looks like that biofuel delivery work is getting pretty regular, and with it the payments for the move.

Hollywood treatment for 475?

NO! NO! Oh, the horror, the horror. . .

Mr Anderson, She looks great! Looks like they are giving her full power coming up the hill, I bet the fireman was busy, Nice pic! Not too many steam engines get the chance now in days to pull that much weight. Must have been fun to be on the throttle.
