| Post subject: | Once in a lifetime Conway Scenic Steam This weekend |
For those of you who are lucky enough to have this coming weekend off, and don't know what to do, pack up the car and head to North Conway, NH. Conway Scenic will be operating their ex CN 0-6-0 #7470 over the Maine Centrals Mountain Division on Sunday July 31st. This excursion is going up through Crawford Notch and all the way to the end of track at MP 101 (Airport Road) in Hazens. #7470 has never steamed this far in its 30+ years of service at CSRR and might never do it again. In fact, a steam powered passenger train hasen't been down to Hazens (just east of Whitefield) since MEC quit running steam in 1953! Perhaps some old bones will be stirred this Sunday? Here's a link for more info. http://www.conwayscenic.com/index.cfm?f ... ent&eid=87 Brian Hebert |
