Thanks to the generosity and support of our community, and the hard work of our volunteers who have repaired two and half miles of track in the past six months, the El Dorado Western Railroad is proud to announce that it has officially opened for regularly scheduled excursions from our depot at El Dorado.

Excursions are being offered to the public every Sunday from 12:00 to 4:00pm with a suggested donation of $5.00 for adults, and $3.00 for children under 12. Children under 5 are free.

Excursions alternate directions each week from El Dorado, running east to Diamond Springs or west towards Shingle Springs. Round trips are typically 25 minutes and depart on the half hour.

For those interested in joining our organization, we have volunteer opportunities available 5 to 6 days a week with with large work sessions on Saturdays. New volunteers are always welcome.
