Can anyone shed some light on the two Interurban Cars shells that are setting in what looks like a heavy equipment storage area in the town square in Van Alstyne Texas? The cars and the detached trucks look as if they have been stored outside for a long time and are showing considerable deteroration. Are there any plans of restoration in the works?

It sounds like you're talking about Texas Electric box motor #501 and interurban freight trailer #608. Freight motor #501 was built by American in 1913, and #608 was homebuilt by TE in 1922. I believe there is some restorative work being done on these two cars, but I'm not sure what the nature of it is.

These cars were found in a barn in Plano that was threatened with demolition and acquired by the City of Van Alstyne to be restored and placed in a park under a canopy. They won an ISTEA award and even bought materials in coordination with McKinney Avenue Transit Authority to rebuild the roof, but I have not seen much work done on the cars and don't know their current status other than a state of decay.
