"After much deliberation, we have decided to dispose of our NW-5 (former GN #187) in order to make room for other more pressing projects.

The unit is the older of the two remaining units from the GN/BN fleet and has been vandalized by metal thieves. We need to get rid of what's left.

Basically; qualified 8-567BC installed by CEECO; rebuilt D4D main generator; rebuilt aux generator; AAR control stand; Blomberg trucks with 2" plus wheels and D57 or better motors. Not sure if it can be moved on own wheels as am not sure of what kind of draft gear/alignment couplers.

Someone attempted to steal one of the power contactors but never got it out of the cab. They also cut one of the traction motor cables which is long enough to be spliced.

The unit is rough looking; needs low voltage rewired; definately a "mechanics special" but worthy of preservation. If no takers, unit will be parted out.
