Steamlocomotive.info records a LOT of events that might be of interest to a steam fan. When a photo is added, when a note is posted, when a locomotive is added, deleted, or edited, and so forth.

Some of this information shows up under the 'What's New' button, but a lot is just...recorded. So...I'm in the midst of adding two new things to the site. First will be a Twitter feed that automatically tweets when something new and/or interesting is done on the website.

The second will probably be of less interest but will appeal to the geekier among us...and RSS feed of the changes/additions/deletions, etc.

Hope to have both of these ready by the end of the coming weekend.

Regards,
Doug

Thanks Tom! All the programming for the Twitter feed is completed. Will be testing tonight and Friday to make sure the "tweets" look good and convey the desired information. Plan to make the Twitter feed available on Saturday.

The way the code is currently set up, whenever a "news" event occurs, it generates a tweet. In general terms there are usually less than 10 or 15 of these a day.

Work on the RSS feed has now shifted into high gear (which for me is slightly faster than an arthritic turtle), and I still have hopes of being able to make the feed available late Saturday or Sunday. This one updates once daily, and has pictures and other assorted interesting things.
