Post subject: | ALCO RS-11 for sale or scrap (Maine Coast #367) |
I noticed a "for sale" ad on railswap for former Maine Coast, RS-11 #367, stored in Indiana. Listing date is 9/9/11. The owner claims if it doesn't sell soon, then it goes to the steel recycler. Photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tri-state_trains/3973174550/ Ad: http://railswap.org/cb/cl/classifieds.cgi?search_and_display_db_button=on&db_id=14933&query=retrieval Text of seller's Ad is quoted below: Quote: We have for sale ex-Maine Coast, ex-N&W Alco RS11 #367.
This locomotive is currently stored and has not operated since it days on the Maine Coast Railroad. We made an attempt to place this locomotive in a museum and that has failed, so it is time to sell it or scrap it, The locomotive has one thin wheel set, around 1 inch to 1 1/16 inch. The locomotive moved from Maine on this wheel set and it should be good for a one time move. The locomotive will need the usual servicing before being moved. The locomotive does have alignment control couplers. Will consider reasonable offers, but time is short. Should someone want to return this locomotive to service, then I have a lot of spare parts that only fit an RS11 that I will sell. These parts are a seperate deal and not part of the locomotive. |
