From the Wabash RR Historical Society site: Are there enough extant Wabash cars to re-create this train, using the one remaining Wabash E8? Nice little streamliner. http://home.attbi.com/~wabashrr/images/bluebrd2.jpg ryarger@rypn.org |

According to WebLurker's DomeMAIN, three of the Wabash Budd domes including the observation are in storage at the former New Georgia Railroad shops. The other one is/was at Illinois Transit Authority Corp. It appears that none of them are roadworthy at this time. (The other two domes Wabash had were smooth-side Pullman-Standards.) > From the Wabash RR Historical Society site: > Are there enough extant Wabash cars to > re-create this train, using the one > remaining Wabash E8? Though the Wabash was never noted for spectacular scenery, the short Bluebird consist would make a good tourist train. Unlike many famous name trains, which were heavy with head end cars and sleepers, this one appears to be nearly all domes with a diner, and perfect for day trips. > According to WebLurker's DomeMAIN, three of > the Wabash Budd domes including the > observation are in storage at the former New > Georgia Railroad shops.
