What some people call "art:"

All right, what does this have to do with railway preservation?

Well, the first thing that stands out about this artist is that he has some knowledge of engineering and mechanical talent; that's a bit unusual in the art world, or at least it seems so to me. He also seems to enjoy working with mechanical stuff, as many of us here do.

Most importantly, he gets paid for this! How he does it, I don't know--but raising money seems to be the hardest thing for us to do. That may also be his highest accomplishment as an artist!

Does anybody have any clues as to how and where this fellow gets his money, and if so, can we trap some of it for the stuff we would like to do?

As I have now donned my flameproof clothing, the floor is now open for comments.

Did you get in touch with him and ask him? Might get better information than asking strangers on this board to blindly speculate.

Only off the top of my head idea is a joint venture providing a venue for producing a showing.

I don't really think I want to try to do what he does - I've damaged myself enough being naturally clumsy in the shop without driving nails through my hands purposely. Feel free to try it yourself if you like, however.
