Nice little article but it got my hopes up too high.

From the article

When Margaret Frost and Janice Wargelin stopped at the Virginia Museum of Transportation Monday afternoon, they couldn't help but admire the 611's beauty and grace.

Surely I thought the next thing that I would read.....

"The women were so impressed that they provided the resources necessary for the full restoration to return the 611 to it's glory that it would again be steaming the rails from Roanoke.

Still I like "The Spirit of Roanoke". A little good publicity.

The museum also has plans to move the 611, the Spirit of Roanoke, in the next six months.

Surely I thought the next thing that I would read.....

"will be moved to a shop so it can begin a full restoration to return the 611 to it's glory and that it would again be steaming the rails from Roanoke.

Still I like "The Spirit of Roanoke". A little good publicity.

I would venture to guess that the move is referring to the engine going to the Link Museum on National Train Day for display instead of any other news.

I hope I am wrong...... :)

Nope, the article says (here or another one) that they're moving it to Track 3, a track that has better viewing areas for the rest of Roanoke.
