There currently is a NEPA EA out for public comment, on the extension of the V&T from Mound House NV. No it is not an extension in 3' gauge to Bishop CA, but rather a scenic route retracing the Virginia and Truckee route through the Carson River canyon.

I hope if any of you find an item worthy of comment, that you would take the time to submit it. This probably will be the last extension of the V&T if it goes through. It might be nice to see rails laid between the NSRM site on US 395 to the end of track seen here, but it would not follow an original V&T alignment and it is not likely to add any great value to the tourist.
