were to stand up with them but Vada's health is
such that it wasn't wise to attempt the trip. If

Kevin is the Chairman and Jennifer is the Secretary of the group that maintains the IC2500
on display here in Centralia, IL.

I remember some years ago on a routine departure from Antonito, the passengers were told that there was a private car attached to the rear of the train, a caboose. But it was a surprise an hour or so later when the train stopped in the dessert and we were told that there would be a wedding at the caboose. We all walked back there and witnessed the ceremony performed on the rear platform of the caboose. Perhaps this happens often? Bob Reich

Yes, it apparently happens often enough that the
personnel out there know just what to tell you
when you call with a question. For instance,
Carole in the ticket office was able to give me the phone number of a local florist so we could order Jennifer's boquet. The flower shop didn't
seem to find it unusual fo someone to order flowers for a wedding on the train and since we can't come they will deliver the flowers to Jennifer.
You mentioned that the train stopped for a wedding. With only 11 miles to work in on a
New Mexico Wedding License it might be a very short ceremony if the train didn't stop!

Congratulation to Kevin & Jennifer. Does your group have a newsletter or website? I lived on Randolph Drive back in the 60's and still visit 2500 when I'm in Centralia.

Perhaps you can answer a question for me. I seem to remember a cab visit to 2500 in the park when we lived there. Is this just a wishful memory or could this have happened?
