By the way, in the last year or so the IRS changed (made more stringent) the requirements for substantiating charitable deductions. This is in part due to certain abuses of the system.

The long and short of it? There's more paperwork to substantiate the deduction. This applies to any deduction of $250.00 or more.

Just remember that at a 40% marginal tax bracket, you reduce a donor's taxes by $100.00 if you provide them with proper verification.
