Appropo of the recent orgy of Alco diesel locos rendered for scrap in Michigan, it should be remembered that ex-D&M 469 still exists, and is owned by an outfit with at least a modicum of sympathy toward the preservation cause.

Yet, one has to wonder how patient the principal is going to be, especially if the economy goes south...and there is an excess of expense and a shortage of cash on his books.
