Ok, not really. But I did get your attention.

Folks,

Over the years this forum and other like-minded ones have lamented about how tight-fisted, skin-flinted, grouchy and apathetic folks in this hobby and industry can be.

Yes, I am talking to YOU!!!!!!!!

For two months, I have off/on been trumpeting that the Alexander Chapter-NRHS is in the running for a Pepsi Refresh Grant. Over that time, I think I have had one, maybe two people from this board voice their support.

If there are more of you than this supporting our effort, I apologize in advance to you (you know who you are)

But if you haven't voted yet- shame, shame shame.

It is easy to log-in via facebook, twitter, or another email account. You can also text 110357 to number 73774 (PEPSI) from your phone.

We have been holding at #3/4 all month with only 5 days to go and have now slipped to #5. A top 15 finish wins $10k.

In the past 3 years, our chapter has rescued or restored 3 narrow gauge boxcars, including one of the oldest in the country, 1 forlorn 2-6-0, 2 ET&WNC motorcars, and a long lost Edwards Railcar, the only surviving gas-mechanical piece left from the Southern Railway. This does not count the maintenance of a 1924 depot or other smaller projects.

PLEASE HELP NOW and for the next FIVE DAYS. This is your way to help a great deal without contributing much effort or any money.

I echo Matt's comments (although I somehow doubt his "too sexy for his shirt" comment!!!)!

I have found I can vote once for my Facebook log-in, once by text, and once for each of my Hotmail & Yahoo email accounts! That is four (4) votes! Come on - let's help them win some bucks - they have some GREAT projects that can use the $$$$$!!!

The website seems to be working fine. Are you logging in at the bottom left corner of the screen?

There are three ways to vote. And you can use all 3 ways ONCE daily.

Way #1: The easiest way to vote is to TEXT from your cell phone. Simply You type in 110357. Send to phone number 73774 (which spells PEPSI).

Way #2 and #3: Essentially, these are the same thing, but logging in two different ways.

First, go to www.refresheverything.com If you have a Facebook account, you can log in with this account almost automatically. You can also log in with a "Pepsi" account that utilizes your email account. NOTE: if you are scared of spam (and I have gotten NONE in two months), open up a google or yahoo account.

Anyway, when you go to the website, at the bottom left it will give you the option on signing in or creating your log-in. Once in, in your browser, simply type in www.refresheverything.com/yadkin100

I went through facebook and voted and I am not real good with computers. Matt's chapter has done some fine restorations projects and deserves our support!!! Get out and vote.

Keep it up daily until the end of the week,.

We pushed back to #4 but have a couple of schools and animal groups slugging it out behind us and moving up fast.

The Top 15 win in our category. We are looking good, but this last week is very volatile as some groups who realize they can't win shift their votes over to other causes, generally those in the lower tiers who want to either get or stay "safely in the money."

I find it annoying that the Pepsi Refresh Project has to be granted access to your facebook account including "Post to Facebook as me". I have given you my vote then I immediately removed their website/app permissions from my Facebook account.

I have to pay my wireless provider per text. Sorry.

Yes, that particular Facebook requirement has put off a couple of people from voting that method, but the way I look at it, if you are on Facebook already, chances are whatever was on there previously will be available somehow, some way.

I understand you not wanting to text, but lotsa folks have texting where it does not cost them.

Finally, you could use your email account, or open up a "temporary" aol, gmail, yahoo, or hotmail account if you are concerned about spam (which I have not received ANY in two months).

Bottom line, thank you for the vote you cast and your consideration for doing so!
