Since again a thread was locked because less than positive, though accurate, information was conveyed I started a new.....

It is my understanding that the largest issue is that of dealing with a passenger rail line the equipment must pass over. It has been conveyed to me that the rail operator A) feels that the larger locomotives will damage their rail and B) they have been standing VERY strong in their position of NO plain bearings (aka by the timken marketing department, "friction").
Any thoughts or insight?

On a side note, I again say that until the evils of individuals/organizations can be openly conveyed.....failures explained without it being called slanderous, this industry is doomed.

Cheers, Jason

You are free, absolutely and unconditionally to convey those evils ELSEWHERE. I would remind you that this is neither a "public square" in the sense the founding fathers maintained in the Federalist papers, nor do you have any intrinsic right to express an opinion here which violates RyPNs guidelines. This is a private place. Privately owned, privately operated and privately supported.

You have no more right to express an opnion contrary to the site's guidelines here, than you do to paint that same opinion on my living room wall. For good or ill, RyPN is what is. If you wish to participate in a forum that permits the sort of expression you desire, then create one. Nothing is stopping you.

And I would also remind you that when a thread gets closed by a moderator, and someone immediately opens a new thread to criticize the decision to lock the previous thread and to restate the opinions that got the previous thread closed, it isn't regarded with warm fuzzy feelings by the site admins and moderators.

Hence, once again, this thread is closed.
