It's always sad when an old railway building like this is torn down. Pittsfield is my hometown and I've been inside this carbarn many times when it was used as a hardware/lumber store. The rails were still in the floor and I often thought it would make a great home for a railway museum. It is five tracks wide and over five hundred feet long with a two track paint shop and offices.
Guess I'd better get pics asap...
