These are the lenses from the interior lights of a PCC streetcar at Orange Empire Railway Museum. I had just washed them and they are drying in the sun. There are 35 of them. 3100 is the car number.

In one of those "only at OERM" coincidences, the museum also has Southern Pacific GE U-25B 3100, which recently emerged from a repainting project. Different gauge, different motive power, different "purpose in life" and definitely a different paint job, but the same road number. Finally, SP 3100 has a "build date" of March 1963, the same month that the "Yellow Cars" such as LATL 3100 quit running in Los Angeles. |
