Today we succesfully moved our 1913 CA caboose to its new home for restoration. Despite 60 mph winds and a non supported back wall all went well. Amazingly whilst tidying the site we found the caboose had been set down in 1947 on the remains of a OSL ? flatcar, the number of the car ending in 000. Anyone help with this one ! Hi Mike, On your Car 57 Facebook page, I noticed photos of UP caboose #2455. Is it the same type of caboose as the 2516 you just moved? Also, will you be posting news updates on this 2516 project on your Car 57 page? Or do you plan to start a separate Facebook page for it? I'll be interested in reading your progress reports on it. By the way, that piece of lumber painted, "Oregon Short Line," might make a nice exhibit piece. Thanks. |

2455 is a 1910 CA but in poor shape we hope to acquire all the fittings off that one to aid the restoration of 2516, 2516 has her own facebook page https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Caboo ... 2552775735 and yes the OSL flatcar side will be stabilized and removed for future display. Mike Pannell |

Do you have any more pictures of the flatcar part? How much is left of the car? Is it just the one side? Lots of questions, those are. I ask because I was thinking of doing some artwork for OSL decals, and the more reference material that is available the easier that will be. I'll say it again...I really need to get out there to Cheyenne and check out what you're doing. Nice work! |
