This Chicago Trib article says it was a Metra unit built in December 1992... http://www.xmission.com/~dstrack/locono ... grange.htm So, I'm guessing Metra F40PHM-2 No. 214... just a guess, but it fits with the facts in the article eledbetter@rypn.org |

Definately a Metra F40PHM-2 according to the official EMD history: "In December, EMD delivers the final locomotive of an order for 30 F40PHM-2 units to METRA. This is the last unit assembled at the McCook plant." http://www.gmemd.com/en/company/history/1990/ eledbetter@rypn.org |
