I received a couple of photos from Nigel showing progress on his latest Lempor installation on one of the WCWR's locomotives. Hopefully Nigel will post up and fill us in on what he's doing.

The stack looks significantly "fatter" than the one on the Lempor-equipped locomotive in the first photo. It'll be interesting to hear the details behind it.

While you are at it, perhaps add superheat?

Thank you Hugh for posting the pictures. The loco in the back ground is #1 with its lempor with a larger difuser ( and with further modifications) than #5. it was on #3 for a while. This now will be covered over with a casing in the future. Tests where done with this difuser and some very intresting information colected which has been built into the new chimney for #3.

The new chimney is not a Lempor but a Lemprex. Porta worked on these but left nothing definate to go on. This one has what I can work out and will provide me with information about further designs under way.
The Kordina is all but finished and some pictures may be relised later. It is known by testing to produce a vacuum in other exhaust passages which has been messured in tests using compressed air. There is still much work to do between the Kordina and blastpipe nozzle.

The full list of work for #3 runs into pages. It will take much time to work through everything. Super heat, well it could be done but it would mean major work to the tube plates, regulator asemblies, steam pipes and then have major ramifications in the cylinders which are beyond both the scope of the modifications and budget at this time.
