And make history they did... Not even the Duke of Gloucester, arguably the most modern locomotive in the UK, has been able to match the power output of the Coronation class. Impressive to see that in the nearly 30 years between their construction that even the advancements made in departments like valve gear, boiler design, etc. couldn't top the Coronations. They are exemplary of the superiority of many British designed locomotives, in my opinion.

We had some good stuff in the states, too, both in locomotives and in PR film work, but it seems like nothing in the quantity produced by the Brits. . .
