Would someone care to explain how to check and adjust lift on cross compound compressors? I am new to the subject and have an I.C.S book for reference, but it would be nice to hear how you have done this. Thanks!

Why don't you buy or trade (some other needed set) for a set of blueprints for all the parts and pieces of that pump.

John,
Grand Scale Quarterly magazine has a free CC compressor manual on their website.

Greetings:
The ICS textbook No. 514B, Compressors and Brake Equipments, sections 116 through 123 explain these repairs. Having the correct gauge is most important. The gauge is shown in figures 41 through 43. These drawings have dimensions and are are detailed enough to make your own gauge. I made mine in an hour from a couple of pieces of cold rolled flat stock on a milling machine.
Good luck.
