I'm not a subscriber to Trains magazine so I cannot read the full article. But there's an intriguing headline: "Friends of the 261 Buy 1522's Support Cars". Steve Sandberg is out of town until May 2nd, my curiousity is killing me. Has anybody read the article? If so, what cars were purchased and why?

They were the Firefly, an ex MILW baggage-dorm on Nystrom trucks and the Black Gold an ex NP baggage car.
Prior to that he bought the Bluebonnet, which SLSTA used as a leased car from the MOT and painted it blue and white. It too is ex MILW.
Presently the auxiliary water car is listed in the classified column.
Sad to see them go, but we do live in the real world.
